REST API — layered architecture

Used in the URL shortener and ecommerce API: a thin HTTP layer, a service layer holding business logic, and a repository layer owning persistence.

Redis sits beside the repository as a cache-aside layer for hot reads, with fail-open behaviour.

Event-driven — Outbox Pattern

Application changes and event records are persisted atomically in the same transaction, so events can be published asynchronously — no unsafe dual-write.

The Saga pattern coordinates order, stock and payment steps, with compensation if a step fails.

GitOps CI/CD

Git is the source of truth. CI builds and publishes images; the declared state in Git is synced to the cluster continuously.

About Me

Software Engineer · Backend & Full-Stack

I'm a software engineer based in London, UK, currently completing an MSc in Computer Science (Cloud Computing) at the University of East London. I focus on backend and full-stack engineering — building REST APIs, event-driven services and deployment pipelines that are reliable and straightforward to operate.

I work mainly with Python, Django and Go, backed by PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker and AWS. My projects include a multi-tenant ecommerce API, an event-driven order platform using the Saga and Outbox patterns, a Go URL shortener with caching, rate limiting and async analytics, and GitOps CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, Helm and Argo CD.

I care about clean API design, testable code and practical security. I'm looking for software engineering roles — backend or full-stack — in the UK.
